Night Dreamer
Do our tools serve their purposes reliably? What do their designs communicate? I assess how everyday objects function, reflect on their significance, and transform this insight into artistic expression.
I delve into inquiries regarding the influence of design on our daily life. The Deadline Calendar project originated from pondering whether art could serve as a practical tool. It involved creating a calendar with a one-month deadline and adapt- ing the artwork over the course of 30 days con- stantly. This artwork functions as a timekeeping tool, distinct from conventional clocks and calen- dars, by incorporating deadlines. Feeling discon- nected from the utilitarian aspects of parking lot lighting and architecture, I have endeavored to express emotional dimensions using these same tools. Through these endeavors, we contemplate our emotional connections to design and embark on self-exploration by transforming them into art.
