CURRICULUM VITAE
  • Evert Ypma berät öffentliche und privatwirtschaftliche wie auch nationale, supra-governementale und kulturelle Institutionen und lokale, wie globale Unternehmen bei deren Designstrategien, deren kreative Innovation und Fragestellungen bezüglich zu Repräsentation und Bildpolitiken. Er erforscht und unterrichtet visuelle Repräsentation, Bildpolitik und gegenwärtige Designkultur.
  • Evert Ypma studierte Graphic Design und Typographie an der Grafisch Lyceum Zwolle, an der Willem de Kooning Academy in Rotterdam und im Master Visuelle Kommunikation an der St. Joost in Breda, wo er anschliessend den Süd-Holländischen Designpreis 1999 erhielt. Seit 2003 in der Schweiz, studierte Evert Ypma im MAS Designmanagement an der Fachhochschule Nordwestschweiz.
  • Von 2005 bis 2010 leitete er an der Zürcher Hochschule der Künste (ZHdK) im Design2context, das Institut für Designforschung und das international ausgerichtete Labor ‚Multiplicity & Visual Identities’. Daneben lehrte er an der Hochschule für Gestaltung und Kunst in Basel (FHNW). Zudem war er 2011 Gastdozent an der Design und Architektur-Fakultät der University of Technology, Sydney, tätig.
  • Evert Ypma war Mitglied der Cumulus VisCom Working Group, im Beratungsgremium vom Iridescent, Icograda Journal of Design Research und Botschafter von der international INDIGO-Initiative für Indigenous Design, Icograda, der International Council of Visual Communication.
  • Aktuell ist er als Editorial Advisory Board Member am Journal of Communication Design (Bloomsburry-Routhledge and ico-D, International Council of Design) beteiligt.
  • Seit April 2012 entwickelt und leitet Evert Ypma das transdiszipläre Studienprogramm „Camera Arts“ an der Hochschule Luzern, Design & Kunst, welches auf Post-fotografische Medien und visuelle Strategien im Kontext von Kunst, Design, Medien und Gesellschaft ausgerichtet ist.

  • Information right now! – young people are asking, Conceptual and design strategy for grassroots social media campaign of the European Youth Information and Counselling Agency (Luxembourg) and Council of Europe (Strassbourg, 2012) in occasion of the 9th Council of Europe Conference of 47 ministers of responsible for youth policy (St. Petersburg, 2012): “Young people’s access to rights —development of innovative youth policies”. The campaign is elaborated through three sub-themes: Social inclusion of young people; Democracy, including e-Democracy; Living together in diverse societies.
